Note(s)University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: DC-s05. Thomas Frank Crellin (1883-1949) was a photographer and cinematographer. He was based in Shanghai from c.1923 to 1927, working for Eastman Kodak. In this photograph, Tommy Crellin is playing the part of Charlie Chaplin, while being filmed in a studio with opera actors. A similar photograph to this, was published in 'The Kodak Magazine' (Vol IV, No 2, July 1923).
