Note(s)Home of Walter Attwell Lynch Palmer ( 1892-1975), Local Sales Dept. A.P.C. During the Sino-Japanese Hostilities in August 1937, the houses were comandeered by the Japanese Military, and occupied, forcing the occupants to leave. The Chinese Armed Forces shelled the houses, causing shell-fire damage as can be seen on the photograph. The house was looted and its occupants eventually moved to the French Concession.
