Note(s)The first French consulate was built between 1864 and 1867. The Consul moved in in May 1867. Unfortunately, the quality of the construction left much to be desired and maintenance was required less than three years later. Over the next 30 years, the various consuls had to engage works of consolidation, until the decision was made to tear down the consulate. The new building (photograph) was erected in 1907.
