The street has evidently been watered just before the view was taken hence the dark colour.'

註文	The Hongkong & Shanghai Bank (滙豐銀行 - Huifeng yinhang - HSBC) opened its Shanghai branch in 1865. It moved into its own building, designed by the architect William Kidner, on a site next to the Maritime Customs, in 1875. The modern building was completed in 1923.
