摘要The Shanghai Postal Workers' Union (PWU) was founded by the Chinese Communist Party but, following the coup of April 1927, it was taken over by the Nationalists and soon faded away. Recreated as a nonpolitical union seeking workers' economic benefits, the PWU was again seized by the Nationalists and dominated by Du Yuesheng and his Green Gang. Like other "yellow" (or corrupt) unions in most respects, the involvement of the gangs was unique to China's semicolonial status.
