註文	The dating is based on the fact that the book was published in 1908 while we have both the new Garden Bridge and the Concordia Club (built in 1907). This picture also shows the old building of the Shanghai club (not yet demolished while Wright notes in his book that the Club is in temporary premises on Jinkee Road at the time of writing [p.388]). Between 1920 and 1925, the space is empty (one can see two full rows of windows on the building in the rear, whereas on later pictures, only one row and a half is visible). Both the Concordia and Telegraph buildings are visible, but not the Central Hotel. Work has not yet started on the photograph. The picture could be dated end of 1907/beginning of 1908.
