摘要A translation of an interview conducted by Shen Yiqin, appearing in Dangshi Ziliao [Historical documents of the Chinese Communist Party] 1979 (1): 47-69. Though outwardly orthodox, suggesting central Party control of activities in Shanghai, Wang Yaoshan makes it clear that after contact was lost with the Party center in 1933, the surviving Shanghai Party members followed an independent, pragmatic policy of working with other left-leaning groups as well as nationalist elites.
