This document is a map of population densiny in the French Concession in 1937. Figures are given in number of inhabitants per "are" (French unit of surface). To obtain a figure in square kilometer, just multiply by 10,000. For figures in acre, multiply by 40.469.

The numbers on the map indicate the census blocks that served for the regular 5-year (1885-1930), then annual census (1934-1942) of the population by the French Municipal administration.
