This main table provides a survey of the foreign population in the French Concession in April 1849, with a breakdown by nationality, occupation and place of residence. Due to the poor quality of the original source, some data is missing (unreadable).

The second table (File: FC_Population_Nationality_1849) presents the same data with analytical tables (pivot table), as well as the spatial distribution based on the geocoder of the Virtual Shanghai  Project.
