摘要The article discusses architectural change in the urban history of Shanghai, China, with a particular focus on 20th century China. An overview of the role that social changes in China played in Shanghai's architecture, including in regard to the influence of Western civilization on Shanghai culture, is provided. The article presents several photographs of Shanghai architecture. The reflection of modernity in Shanghai's architecture, including in the design of city office buildings, is discussed
